Johnny was my first celebrity crush at age ten. I joined his fan club and still have the small photos they sent me. I was also a horse crazy girl and I loved Johnny because he was a good horseman too. I rediscovered Johnny several years ago on Facebook. I was delighted he was reaching out to his fans in social media. I was very intrigued that he created the Johnny Crawford Orchestra. He looked so handsome in his top hat and tuxedo. I had hoped to attend a concert in Los Angeles. I think he was just starting to have early signs of Alzheimersโ€™s disease and had stopped doing the concerts. My cousin died at age 68 from early onset Alzheimerโ€™s. My heart sank when I learned Johnny had this terrible disease. I just turned 70 and learning of Johnnyโ€™s passing just a few days before, made it particularly sad news for me. The Rifleman was a classic television show and will continue to entertain new generations around the world. My condolences to Charlotte and the entire Crawford family.
