As a big Rifleman fan (was back then, still am today), two of my favorite lines of Johnny’s are from early episodes “seems like the Lord’s DEAD SET against us havin our own place” after their house burns down - also, “Whiskey make ya work better? Supper will” in Paul Fix’s 1st show as Micah The authenticity of the show remains to this day imo - it wasn’t just acting for Johnny, he lived it - expert rider, became a full fledged rodeo cowboy - was considered one of the best ropers around - few have had the career Johnny has had
