When I was young, my Mom know not to have dinner ready until after 6:00, because The Rifleman was on until then. Of course, I had a crush on Johnny, but I also loved the show and the messages it portrayed. (My Dad was frequently mistaken for Chuck Connors as well.) At 65, I am now so enjoying reruns of The Rifleman on cable TV, and loving it all over again. Iโm so very sorry that Johnny had Alzheimerโs - but he was certainly fortunate to have such a wonderful wonderful wife and friends who truly cared about him.
