My heart is broken. The last survivor of the Rifleman. A great actor, singer, musician and man. RIP friend, your pain is over. The world is emptier without you....thank you for your contribution to our Western folklore.

I've kept up with Johnny's condition during the last few years through Paul Petersen. Prayers for Charlotte and the family. And, for his lifelong friend Paul, as I know that Johnny has been as close as a brother.

To Charlotte and family: your weekly updates have been received with prayers and thoughts for best wishes. Reading of Johnny's passing tonight brings heartache but peace knowing that his eyes are twinkling forever now. Please know that so many are thinking of you now and our hearts are with you.

Johnny Crawford, It is a pleasure to write this to you as I remember you always as the riflemans son watching the show every week. A clevelander I would always think of the west and it's ruff and tough cowboys and indians. After my family moved to California, I soon became familiar with the area and it's hussle and bussle, not the west I remember on tv, HA! Hope to meet you some day and hope that your world gets better each day. Steve

Hi Johnny, I just want to say I have loved the Rifleman TV show for most all of my life. I went to prison for over 30 years, and many times I would watch the Rifleman on MeTV each day to forget prison life. It was my way of remembering a simpler time in American life. I must say that the values and character roles you and Chuck Connors played shaped my own values in the way I try to live my life. I am deeply saddened to learn only recently about your battle with Alzheimers. I want to contribute to your care too, Johnny. And I am grateful to know you have a loving family and friends who look out for you. May God bless and keep you, Johnny Crawford, and your family as well. With Love in Christ, sincerely, your fan, Jeff

Dear Johnny and family โ€” I canโ€™t tell you how much Johnnyโ€™s work has meant to me, especially on โ€œThe Rifleman.โ€ The show was wonderfully done, and the father-son bond between Johnny and Chuck Connors was evident. My beloved dad loved the old TV Westerns and films. He passed away in 2016 at 81 of Alzheimerโ€™s, after surviving cancer. Every time I watch โ€œThe Riflemanโ€ I think of him. Thank you for the joy youโ€™ve brought to my family and millions of people throughout the years.

Johnny! You know how much you mean to me! You discovered me! In Birmingham in 1980 when I was 19 and you were 33. It was just like a movie. I was in the chorus line and you were the lead in Meet Me in St. Louis. You flew me to Hollywood, put me in your 1930's night club act and the rest is history. I'm listening to your album today and thinking of you. I'm 61 now and in Film School! My first short film will have your music as the score. God bless you and Charlotte richly. I'm praying for you, my sweetest, wonderful friend for life.
