The Sheridan episode comes to mind - โ€œDied, Johnny? Such men never really diedโ€ - thatโ€™s what a pensive Gen. Sheridan says to Johnny Reb (Frank Blandon), & itโ€™s kind of the way I feel about Johnny Crawford - in the limelight his whole life, yet a more grounded friendly unaffected individual you couldnโ€™t find in this world Lovely posts, especially your poem Norma

My Tribute to Johnny The sun is setting over North Fork. The streets are empty and all is quiet at the McCain Ranch. The fire is out in the fireplace and the barn door is shut. Mark gathered up some of his favorite belongingsโ€ฆhis guitar, his trusty lasso and Paโ€™s Bible. He is saddling up Blue Boy one final time. Mark can now join former residents of North Fork and Johnny can join his parents, Chuck and former Mouseketeers and actors in taking a final bow. And Johnny is riding โ€˜Two Bitsโ€™ one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw
A plowinโ€™ through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw

The Cowboys eyes were blurred, and shirts all soaked with sweat
Theyโ€™re ridinโ€™ hard to catch that herd but they ainโ€™t caught them yet
Theyโ€™ve got to ride forever in that range up in the sky
On horses snortinโ€™ fire, as they ride on, hear their cry.
Yi-pi-yi-ay Yi-pi-yi-o Ghost riders in the Sky

Ride on Johnnyโ€ฆ.ride on.โ€ฆThanks for the Memories!

I just watched the Celebration of Johnny's Life. Though we "grew up with" him, our loss is nothing compared to that of his family and personal friends. God bless you all. I live near the Ranch where he got the black and white horse - Valley Mount south of St. Louis. I rode there many times. Happy Trails Johnny.

A very special celebration of life of Johnny! So happy to see it!! Thank you very much to the family and wife and close friends that help create and share this wonderful event to the public and fans. At 48 years old watching movies and tv series. Haven`t seen an actor as charismatic and emotional as Johnny Crawford. He is the best child actor of all times, like Steve mentions! He always puts more attention to others than himself. He had all the qualities to be a top adult actor star and singer! If only he would have been more greedy and asking for favors! But that wasn`t Johnny Crawford... We could have seen more of him on tv and the movies. But happily he found purpose and joy in his orchestra, Probably one if not the best professional career achievement. I think he had incredible pride on is orchestra. Bravo Johnny! An amazing person, Super human to others, kind and so polite to everyone. He loved people so much. He comes from a wonderful family his niece is so nice and sincere talking about him and everyone, including fans being so kind to him. He has a super smile... Read more

Just finished watching the Tinhorn episode - Johnnyโ€™s acting, the way his face creases with worry & anxiety after he inadvertently writes gambler, then gunfight while doing his homework after Lucas has gone into town to deal with a potentially violent poker game, is simply brilliant - heโ€™ll always be admired for the great man he was

i have written on this wall before, and i am writing on it again because i'm watching the rifleman as i'm typing right now... seeing johnny's face brings me joy but with tears. it makes me wish that he could have lived forever as if he was the most beautiful human being on earth, and that i've looked up to for the past 12 years of my life. i met johnny in arizona in 2012, and he sang to me and danced with me... i was only 5. i've been watching him since i was able to remember what it was like watching him... bless his heart. i miss johnny so much. i think of him everyday...

I just found out about Johnnyโ€™s passing, with such sorrow to here this. I am 75 years old and grew up watching the Rifleman, and still watch reruns every day. Johnny was such a great actor and musician, I remember him singing one of the songs he sang to his girlfriend on the show a few years ago, brought back memories. Prayers to the family.

Johnny was such a great actor. It is so sad that his memory left him. He is in Heaven now and completely healed living it up with his "second Pa", Chuck. May all his Family and Friends be Blessed!

As a small boy growing up watching "The Rifleman" I still get chills watching the opening to the show. I counted 13 shots. I decided to check out the web site, and was aw struck to learn of the passing of Johnny Crawford: Not more than 90 days ago, and he was born on March 26, same as me. RIP Johnny.
