Just recieved my autographed picture of Johnny. Will treasure it. Just want him to know he is loved and the joy he gives us all through his music and acting lives on. I introduced my 20 something niece to The Rifleman and she loves him as much as I do. Prayers and love to all.

Thanks for the FB update Charlotte, great photos both from the trip, & of Johnny - love the one w/Arthur Gardner, 101 years old!! Just finished watching Meeting at Midnight, all the greats are in it, Claude Akins, John Milford, Chris Alcaide....there were countless westerns back then, none better than the Rifleman! Thank you Johnny, sending strengthening vibes your way buddy

Johnny was one of my first influences in Western drama. I always was thrilled at the idea of growing up on a ranch with horses in the dusty west. Johnny brought that to the tele every Sat. morning. Thank you Johnny and be well.

Ah yes, those early years of television. By the time of The Rifleman we had grown from our initial 12" screen to a whopping 17", although still black and white. I had forgotten The Rifleman until I encountered some episodes on American Movie Classics. Looking at those programs now I am impressed at the natural acting of Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford. They could have easily been real-life father and son. I am saddened to hear of Johnny acquiring Alzheimer's, something all too many of us encounter as we progress through our senior years. Nothing, however, can erase our life accomplishments, which for Johnny were so many, from one of the original Mouseketeers to child actor to rodeo rider to band leader. And how wonderful that he married his high-school sweetheart. Please thank Johnny for the many hours of enjoyment The Rifleman has provided me. Lucas and Mark McCain will live on long after all of us have departed this fair planet.

Having been raised in Southern California, I was privledged to have an uncle who worked for Filmways. When I was about 6 or 7 he took me to a rodeo by and for film cowboys and wranglers. I was impressed with a young man, who sat me on his horse! Later years reruns of The Rifleman showed me it was Johnny Crawford! My prayers and thanks go to Johnny and the family and friends! God Bless!

I enjoy watching the relationship between Johnny's character with his father. I'm on the Alzheimer's journey with my mom. I'm grateful that she knows her immediate family on most days. Susan

I recently retired and have the opportunity to watch The Rifleman as I did as a child. Back then I followed the story line and waited for the shootout. What I see now is the messages in the plot and how great an actor Mr. Crawford was in that show. Way beyond his years....best compliment I can offer....he never seemed to be acting. The other thing I noticed is how well he could ride a horse. Lost art, for sure...even with adult actors now. We have first hand experience with Alzheimer's and used the awful situation to "give back"...one of the few blessings available with that disease. We send prayers and love to Mr. Crawford and his family. Glad this website is available. Thanks for being a wonderful part of our lives. Jon and Glenda

After reading all the entries on this page, I'm finding it difficult to think of something that hasn't already been said. Please brace yourselves for repetition! Mr. Crawford, Some of my earliest TV memories were of you as Mark McCain with Chuck Connors. I did not know about your 'teen idol' years recording music until I was an adult. I DID know of your orchestra and have enjoyed hearing you perform. I also appreciate songs from the 20s, 30s and 40s and have performed many times (one of the instruments I play is the banjo ukulele) using these early songs. Today I was watching some of your orchestral performances on Youtube and it occurred to me that I might contact you. Finding your web page, I discovered your - forgetfulness - which I can relate to, having suffered a brain injury in the early 80s. Anyway, it is my hope that you maintain as much memory as you can. I have appreciated your work, both with acting and with music, and I wanted to contact you and tell you so. Thank you!

As a big Rifleman fan (was back then, still am today), two of my favorite lines of Johnny’s are from early episodes “seems like the Lord’s DEAD SET against us havin our own place” after their house burns down - also, “Whiskey make ya work better? Supper will” in Paul Fix’s 1st show as Micah The authenticity of the show remains to this day imo - it wasn’t just acting for Johnny, he lived it - expert rider, became a full fledged rodeo cowboy - was considered one of the best ropers around - few have had the career Johnny has had

Dear Mr. Crawford, I hope you will be Able to get this message. From a kid who watched a kid on TV, you became my favorite kid actor and you still are my favorite today. I showed my son David your picture and let him know about “The Rifleman” growing up. I pray that you know Jesus as your Lord Savior. I just ordered the 60th Anniversary boxed set. I decided it was a necessity. I am fine physically but I live alone and my cat recently died so I'm feeling ragged and frayed emotionally. I don't want to take meds to deal with being depressed. I need to see good triumph over evil. A good looking man with his shirt off doesn't hurt either! This set is better than a 5 quart bucket of ice cream. By the way, this is not an advertisement. I am sharing my cure for emotional distress. Love and hugs to you, Johnny. It's a good thing your parents met and fell in love because if they hadn't we wouldn't have you!

Crazy that I love a show that went off the air before I was born, but I do! I know I'm just one of the faceless many that does this, but please give Johnny my heartfelt best wishes. It's good that he loves music, because that has been shown to help tremendously with Alzheimer's patients. I know the love of fans means nothing next to the love of family, but it seems like Johnny is covered in both. God bless you, Johnny!

Hola, soy un admirador de chico de la serie rifleman. y me gustaba no sólo el trabajo de chuk Connors, sino también el papel de hijo que hacía jhonny crawford, tan bien que parecía real y de la época.Excelentes interpretaciones y de buenos mensajes y enseñanzas para la vida, de un padre solo haciendo de madre también. Mi abrazo de tan lejos como Sudamérica para el gran jhonny y que por su delicada salud siga rodeado de afecto familiar, y de sus íntimos aunque ya no esté Lucas, su segundo padre.Abrazo y saludos
