Our heartfelt sympathy to Charlotte, Bobby, Nance, and all of Johnny's family members. My Mom and I watched The Rifleman when I was a teenager. It was just the two of us and we loved the show. In 2015 my husband, Craig, and I had the thrill of meeting Johnny at the Williamsburg Western Film Festival in Williamsburg, Va. We saw him again at the same festival in 2017, and one of the committee people surprisingly arranged for us to take Johnny to dinner. He was so sweet, friendly and down to earth. I kept thinking if only my Mom could see me from Heaven having dinner with Johnny Crawford (little Mark from The Rifleman). We are heartbroken that Johnny has passed, but know that he is in Heaven and out of suffering. Rest in peace, Johnny. Thank you for the great acting, singing and comedy that you brought to us.

I grew up watching you, in the early 60โ€™s, and followed your career throughout my life. You were an inspiration to me millions of others. Thank you Johnny, for the memories and I think of you often.

In 1979, Johnny and I had become coworkers, loading semi-trailers for Roadway Trucking on the loading docks in Los Angeles. I found it ironic that this former TV actor and myself--a recent college graduate--were surprisingly cast in the same role: loading and unloading trucks. We worked the 10-hour night shift which included a "lunch break" around 3 AM. I always enjoyed our conversations and even though we were just ships in the night, it paid well and kept us both in shape. Funny thing--I had only known him from his "Rifleman" days. It wasn't until I learned of his passing did I even realize he was one of the original Mouseketeers. He left us too soon.

My heart goes out to Charlotte and Bobbie and the rest of the Crawford family, I know that it was a very tough road watching Johnny slowly slipping away, he is at peace and he left a ton of wonderful memories. I never had the opportunity to have met Johnny but I do hope to meet Bobbie someday. Sending a bunch of hugs because I know that hugs do help !!!

Often we do not realize how much people touch our lives. Johnny Crawford on the Rifleman has touched me and my daughter for years and since we heard about his passing, we have been singing "Cindy's Birthday." We didn't know him, but that smile and his performances have brought us joy since we found him TV. We are sorry to see him go and may he rest in peace.

Johnny was my first celebrity crush at age ten. I joined his fan club and still have the small photos they sent me. I was also a horse crazy girl and I loved Johnny because he was a good horseman too. I rediscovered Johnny several years ago on Facebook. I was delighted he was reaching out to his fans in social media. I was very intrigued that he created the Johnny Crawford Orchestra. He looked so handsome in his top hat and tuxedo. I had hoped to attend a concert in Los Angeles. I think he was just starting to have early signs of Alzheimersโ€™s disease and had stopped doing the concerts. My cousin died at age 68 from early onset Alzheimerโ€™s. My heart sank when I learned Johnny had this terrible disease. I just turned 70 and learning of Johnnyโ€™s passing just a few days before, made it particularly sad news for me. The Rifleman was a classic television show and will continue to entertain new generations around the world. My condolences to Charlotte and the entire Crawford family.

We love Johnny here. It was important to a child either neglected or even abused to believe there were relationships out there that were healthy, respectful and full of love, even if they were fiction and of another era. The relationship portrayed on The Rifleman will always be a solid example of how a father-son relationship should be. All these years later and yet our eyes still moisten at the poignant episodes from 60 years ago. Johnny played the role of Mark McCain with such natural innocence that I was never once envious or jealous. Requiescat in Pace Pardner.
