The news that Johnny Crawford is heard to learn. Like so many young girls of that era I had a crush on Johnny. I also had a crush on Chuck Conners. Last year I learned Johnny had Alzheimer's. Knowing how that illness robs the person of their lives mentally and physically I knew Johnny's life would be short. To add to the sadness of his passing, knowing he also died of Covid related pneumonia make this news even sadder. Rest in peace Johnny Crawford.

I grew up with Johnny Crawford watching him on The Rifleman. I loved his music too. It's so sad that he's gone now. I know he's at peace and not suffering anymore. My prayers go out to the family. Gone to miss you Johnny. Rebecca Hizer Maryville, Tn.

We are so fortunate to having been in the era when wonderful family and loving story lines were a part of early TV. And today, with ever changing values and life styles it's nice to know we can escape into yesteryear and watch Johnny reruns to fulfill an empty void.

Johnny was my favorite childhood actor - never missed an episode of The Rifleman. And later when he released that great song 'Cindy's Birthday', I knew Johnny would always be among the greatest of performers. We will all miss him so very much!

I am so saddened to learn of the loss of Johnny Crawford. I had to check his FB page in disbelief. I loved him throughout my childhood and used to imagine I was riding with him and Chuck Connors on horses, when I'd ride my bike. God rest his soul. Thanks for all the great TV memories. Like all 7 and 8 year old kids I wanted to be Johnny Crawford. Working on a ranch, riding horses, and shooting guns seemed a perfect life. My Dad and I watched every episode. About ten years ago Dads memory began to fail. As an only child with Mother gone it was up to me to care for Dad. He began to forget me but then I began showing him old TV shows which he remembered. When watching Rifleman he called me Paul again and I called him Pa like I did as a child in the early 60s. Rest well Johnny. Rest well.

I was lucky enough to meet Johnny in Lone Pine California in 2012. We chatted for a minute and he was gracious enough to allow me to take this photograph of him. My condolences to his family. I was and am a huge fan.

Grew up in St. Johns, Mich. watching The Rifleman all the time. My favorite western then and now. Always watched it on weekends when brought to Directv AMC channel until they took it off the air. Great stories and I learned a lot from it. The western cowboy had great character as Chuck and Johnny portrayed in the show. I miss them and wish the families well as my wife and I send our condolences. I actually introduced my wife to westerns with watching The Rifleman (in her 50's -ten years ago). May God bless Johnny and Chuck and their families.

Heavy sighs. Jonny was a year older than I. When I was young a lot of people would tell me "You look like Mark McCain!" Not sure how many times I watched the reruns of the Rifleman but it never grows old. My sincere condolences to the family.
